Here are some questions that we are often asked. If there is something not on the list that you would like to know then you can always CONTACT US

"What is the weather like in Scotland?"

Temperatures in Scotland are generally a few degrees cooler than in England. For example, the average daily maximum temperature at Glasgow in July is 19°C compared with 22°C in London.

July and August are normally the warmest months in Scotland however the weather is famously unpredictable so remember to bring some warm jumpers and perhaps an umbrella!

"Is my deposit on top of my fees?"

No your deposit is the first £100 of your course fee.

"Do I need to bring a music stand?"

You don't have to bring a music stand as there will be plenty available for practise, lessons and classes. However, one might be useful if you wish to practise in your room.

"When does the course start?"

The course this year will begin on the Tuesday at 5pm. We will start with introductions followed by a quick tour which leads into dinner. The first class will begin at approx 7.30pm.

"When will the course finish?"

The final concert will be on Sunday night. Friends and family are welcome to attend. After the concert there is an end of course party. The next morning (Monday 2nd Aug) is for departures.

"What group classes have you had in the past?"

Extra group classes in the past have included Percussion workshops, Baroque Classes, Improvisation workshops, circular breathing classes and Feldonkreis classes.

"How do I get from Edinburgh airport to St Andrews?"

TRAVEL DETAILS FROM EDINBURGH AIRPORT TO ST. ANDREWS

After arrival at Edinburgh Airport the quickest way to St. Andrews is by train.

Your first destination point is Edinburgh Haymarket Station. Either take a bus into Edinburgh City Centre - there is a frequent Airlink service running approximately every 10 minutes throughout the day – getting off the bus at Haymarket Station.

Or take a taxi from the airport to Haymarket Station... The journey (depending on time of day) will be around 20-25 mins and cost approximately £17.

Once at Haymarket Station take a train to LEUCHARS – You will probably leave from Platform 2 and the destination of the train will either be DUNDEE or ABERDEEN. Please check full details when you arrive at Haymarket Station.

A single fare from Haymarket to Leuchars is around £11 and a return fare valid for up to a month is around £19/£20. There are usually around two trains per hour (departure times vary throughout the day) and the journey time is around one hour.

Once at Leuchars you will be picked up. St. Andrews is 15 minutes drive from Leuchars Station.
