St Andrews is an hour’s drive from Edinburgh or 90 minutes from Glasgow, both of which have international airports, therefore putting the School within two hours of London. There are also frequent train and bus connections to both cities
Airports at Glasgow and Edinburgh offer plenty of connections both nationally and internationally.
Car hire is available from the major firms at both airports and in the city centres. See below for road travel information or further information regarding travel from Edinburgh Airport
Rail:
Nearest station is Leuchars (5 miles) on main line from London (King's Cross) - Edinburgh - Aberdeen. St Andrews may be reached by car, taxi or by service bus from Leuchars (2 to 3 buses per hour between 9am and 6pm and less frequently at other times). Travel by late overnight sleeper is convenient if met by car or taxi. Train time schedules available on-line:

After arrival at Edinburgh Airport the quickest way to St. Andrews is by train. Trains leave from Edinburgh Haymarket Station.
Take a bus into Edinburgh City Centre - there is a frequent Airlink service running approximately every 10 minutes throughout the day – getting off the bus at Haymarket Station.
Or take a taxi from the airport to Haymarket Station. The journey (depending on time of day) will be around 20-25 mins and cost approximately £17.
Once at Haymarket Station take a train to LEUCHARS – Trains usually depart from Platform 2 and the destination of the train will either be DUNDEE or ABERDEEN. Please check full details when you arrive at Haymarket Station.
A single fare from Haymarket to Leuchars is around £11 and a return fare valid for up to a month is around £19/£20. There are usually around two trains per hour (departure times vary throughout the day) and the journey time is around one hour.
Once at Leuchars you will be picked up. St. Andrews is 15 minutes drive from Leuchars Station.
(a) From south, cross Forth Road Bridge and proceed north along M90 to junction 2A. Follow the A92 until just before Cupar, then join the A91 to St Andrews. Alternatively, take M90 to junction 8, then A91 to St Andrews.
(b) From south-west, either go east along M8 to Forth Road Bridge and then by route (a), or by Kincardine Bridge and A977 towards Kinross, joining M90 at junction 6 and exiting at junction 8, then by A91 to St Andrews.
(c) From north-west leave Perth on M90 then by A913 to Cupar and St Andrews.
(d) From north via Dundee, cross Tay Road Bridge on A92 and after 1 mile via A919 to Leuchars and A91 to St Andrews.
